Skansbukta

Skansbukta

On the way to Pyramiden the captain took some time to spend in the Skansbukta vicinity. There are no humans, settlements, anything, just incredible scenery, with gorgeous autumn Arctic colors. I cannot not give it special attention and dedicate a separate post.

What I also want to show is how the scenery changes in a short amount of time.

After we saw the polar bears and the glorious Nordenskiöldbreen and headed back to Longyearbyen, we were passing once again by Skansbukta.

This is how the area looks when the sun hides behind the clouds, and it starts to drizzle, the fog begins to creep and the entire bunch of passengers runs back to the ship’s deck to order warm beverages.

STUNNING beyond words.
